Adding objects to terrain?

It seems that I can only add trees, people, etc to my roadway and not to my terrain and it removes the section of roadway where i want the object place.

Can someone enlighten me?

Can you provide a little bit more information, or share images of the issue?

What procedure are you using to place objects?

• Are you importing 3D models as data layers via the Data Sources Panel? (see http://help.autodesk.com/view/INFMDR/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-E0D4F759-7102-4D1F-90BD-38DE9E1EFC7C)
• Are you adding 3D models to style catalogs, to then sketch as city furniture, trees, buidings, etc.? (see http://help.autodesk.com/view/INFMDR/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-BE02E391-DEF9-40D9-BA0B-381F3B4D8634)
• Are you attempting to add 3D models to your roadstyles as decorations, using the Style Palette? (see http://help.autodesk.com/view/INFMDR/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-7AF1E4C7-E9C2-4F41-B250-BB2DD6CDEF76)

You can't add objects to your terrain. You can only add terrain to your terrain.

You can add objects to your model and have them placed at the elelvation of (aka draped on) your terrain.
