"I have the April 2016 release of InfraWorks 360 (aka InfraWorks 360 2017) and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 installed on my computer, and I want to exchange design data between the applications."
Does this situation apply to you? Here are answers to this, and other common questions about working on a project in both InfraWorks 360 and AutoCAD Civil 3D:

BRINGING INFRAWORKS 360 DATA INTO AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D
What's the difference between IMX and InfraWorks 360 SQLITE data?
If you select an SQLITE InfraWorks 360 data source, you can specify extents in the selection area section of the Open InfraWorks 360 Model dialog. You can use the entire InfraWorks 360 model extent or specify a more precise area of interest. See: To open InfraWorks 360 model data in AutoCAD Civil 3D for more information. When you export IMX data from InfraWorks 360, you have the option to define a target coordinate system (this should match your AutoCAD Civil 3D drawing's coordinate system, and specify extents in InfraWorks 360, but not in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Can I bring my InfraWorks 360 2017 data into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017?
Yes. Both IMX and SQLITE are supported.
Can I bring my InfraWorks 360 2017 data into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016?
Yes and no. AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 can import IMX data that was created in InfraWorks 360 2017. However, you cannot directly connect to the SQLITE file for an InfraWorks 360 2017 project using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 or earlier.
Can I bring my InfraWorks 360 2016 data into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017?
Yes. IMX is supported. However, you cannot directly connect to the SQLITE file for an InfraWorks 360 2016 project using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017.
Can I bring my InfraWorks 360 2016 data into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016?
Yes. Both IMX and SQLITE are supported.
BRINGING AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D DATA INTO INFRAWORKS 360
What's the difference between IMX and AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG data?
When you import an AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG file using local or cloud processing, InfraWorks 360 will recognize different AutoCAD Civil 3D model object types and translate them into corresponding InfraWorks 360 features classes. For road alignments and corridors, a DWG file from AutoCAD Civil 3D will become roads, coverages, and terrain surfaces. When you import an IMX file that was exported from AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfraWorks 360 will allow you to choose data types to import, however, corridors will not have coverage styles mapped to them when you import IMX. See: Importing AutoCAD Civil 3D Data - DWG or IMX? for more information.
Can I send my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 data to InfraWorks 360 2017?
Yes. Both IMX and AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG are supported. You can process AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG data locally or in the cloud. To use local processing, you must have InfraWorks 360 2017 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 installed, and enable AutoCAD Civil 3D local import in InfraWorks 360 Application Options. If AutoCAD Civil 3D is not installed, you can process AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG data through the cloud.
Can I send my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 data to InfraWorks 360 2016?
Yes. Both DWG and IMX are supported.
Can I send my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 data to InfraWorks 360 2017?
Yes, IMX and DWG are supported. Autodesk InfraWorks 360 2017 can import IMX data that was created in any version of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (2017 or earlier). However, the option to process AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG data locally is only available if a corresponding release of AutoCAD Civil 3D is installed on the same computer as InfraWorks 360. For example, you cannot directly connect to a local AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 DWG drawing using Autodesk InfraWorks 360 2017. If AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 is not installed, you can process an AutoCAD Civil 3D DWG through the cloud.
Can I send my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 data to InfraWorks 360 2016?
Yes. IMX and DWG are supported.
*As a best practice, it is recommended to install the most recent release of both InfraWorks 360 and AutoCAD Civil 3D so that you can leverage the full capabilities of data exchange between the applications.
Why there is deference between coordination (some shifting) of the start and end points in any designed road in Infraworks 360 with the alignment of the same mentioned road in Civil 3D ? it is to be mentioned that I setup the coordination system in both infraworks and civil 3D to the same system .
when i try to open new model in Infraworks in received an error "need update"
what is solution ???
