Currently there is the option to either define a bbox or polygon for export, it would be good to have another option to select single objects for export, for example two buildings.
Are you exporting to another Infraworks model or to .IMX?
The right-click --> Copy and Paste In Place options work from one model to another and help with correct placement of the copied components.
You can also use this as a workaround for .IMX export by copying and pasting select objects from your primary model into a new file and exporting the new file instead.
It's a multi-step process, but does allow for exporting of selected objects.
