when I use Mapguide Enterprise 2011 to read WMS layers from external servers, the WMS layers get the wrong coordinates and cannot be projected together with my own local layers. This happens although there is nothing wrong with the WMS layers provided externally.

It's seems you local layers coordinates not equal to WMS layer coordinates. You need convert you local layer coordinates the WMS have or another way is to use WMS coordinate override so WMS layers can be viewed in any coordinates system supported by Autodesk.
