Hi,
I have not tried Mapguide via Citrix, but I think
you might get performance issues due to the Plugin.
Reason is that Citrix opens a separate session per
connected user, and sends "screenshots" to that user showing them a personal
screen. This should require Citrix to load several IE browsers in memory and
additionally same amount of Mapguide ActiveX controls.
Each ActiveX is a few MB, and if they are loaded in
separate processes, then you will use alot of memory with many concurrent
users.
I know Citrix is memory hungry anyway, and you
will beef up the server memory anyway.
Response time is also something you have to count
with, and Mapguide events in Javascript might behave differently due to delay
from Citrix to client, events are already affected if you are using dial-up
modem compared with broadband.
These are my ideas of what to look out for, but you
have to test it to be sure where your problems will appear.
Pls report your findings, and tell us your
experiences, good or bad.
Best regards,
Jocke
