MapGuide to Google Earth

Howdy,

Using MapGuide Enterprise 2009 (Topobase Web 2009) and am trying to use the native Google Earth support in MGE. Problems I am experiencing are...

1) When using the MapAgent it is saving the files as FCGI files by default. From what I have read it should be KML. I tried renaming the files and opening in the Google Earth (4.3.7284.3916), but I have no data displayed. The URL I'm using to try and make the KML files is

http://topoweb/mapguide2009/mapagent/mapagent.fcgi?OPERATION=GETMAPKML&VERSION=1.0.0&FORMAT=KML&DPI=96&MAPDEFINITION=Library://Cambridge/CNDHIMap.MapDefinition

Anyone have any ideas?

Try generating from http://servername/mapguide2009/mapagent/index.html (the Web Teir test pages).

Select KML on the left and then GenerateMapKml. Save as xxx.kml and change the file type to All Files in IE.

This worked for me, of course I have not upgraded my Google Earth in forever. There is a chance an update has introduced an issue.

Regards,
Dave

Mapagent won't output a good KML when using the GetMapKML operation due to changes in Google Earth. Only the GetFeaturesKml operation works. Edited by: mauricio.villablanca on Jun 12, 2009 7:05 PM
