Looking for API

We want too adopt GIS, GPS, AVL (automatic vehicle location) and related technology. The main requirements are:
It should work under Map 3D 2007, Topology must be stored in MS SQL.
Ideally, the system should be developed on the Microsoft .NET platform with SQL Server 2005 as a back-end DBMS.
Currently we are having a hard time figuring out how to employ Autodesk products for this application. Creating maps and storing object's attributes into the database is the easy part - I need advice on how to proceed with routing, GPS integration, driver navigation, etc. , or API which i can use for future developing.

I do not know of any routing applications specifically for Autodesk Map or
MapGuide. If you do end up building one, you may want to consider making it
flexible enough to work with any FDO datasource and then you can release
your routing engine either commercially or as part of the Open Source
Geospatial Foundation. You may want to take a look at this:

Why aren't you using MapPoint or another solution from Microsoft?
