Loading DWG with Studio - Out of Memory

This isn't a question, but an observation.  I
am loading a 3 MB DWG with about 3,000 polygons (closed polylines) through
Studio.  A few minutes into it, it stops and I get a "Load Errors" dialog
box that says "Found when applying a default schema to unclassified entities,
Parcel Polygons.FeatureSource...... Out of Memory".  Indeed, task manager
shows the DETE.exe task consuming about 1.2 GB of RAM with total system consumed
physical RAM maxed at 2 GB.  It's apparently not trying to use any of the
swap file.  In this case, it is not a problem of Studio loading the data
through HTTP to the MapGuide server, rather the problem resides on the local
machine running Studio.

I went ahead and defined feature classes in the
source DWG and then re-ran the load procedure.  This time, it loaded
quickly since it did not have to create the feature class definition on the
fly.

Still, this is a bug and is bound to cause people
some problems as they start to load larger drawings with more
entities.

Hi Andy,
we have the same problem, as described in your post.

> "defined feature classes in the source DWG"
What does this mean? How can I create a feature class? Where do I have to do this?
We are using pure AutoCAD 2008.

Thank you!
Regards,
Peter
