Health Restart Enabled

The readme for 6.3 says:

"Autodesk MapGuide Server may hang intermittently. To work around this issue, activate the auto-restart mechanism. By default, the auto-restart mechanism is disabled. To activate it, use regedit to add two registry keys as follows in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFT- WARE\Autodesk\MapGuide Server\6.3\Parameters:

Health Restart Enabled
Health Restart Threshold"

My question: What is right? "Health Restart Enabled" or "Health Restart Enabled"?

Thank you.

Of course my question is: What is right? "Health Restart Enabled" or "HealthRestartEnabled"?

Thank you, Marion. One more q: is this functionality implemented to version 5?

Hi,

Your question should be, is this bug fixed in the
latest MapGuide? 😉

I mean why have a function to restart a service,
fix the reason why the server has to be restarted in the first
place...

The issue is that only the affected OLEDB
connections to the Oracle should be dropped, not restarting the whole service
and disrupt the service for users accessing other MWFs with SDF files, not
having any problems...

How to promise 99.99% uptime to customers with this
inherited flaw?

Best regards,

Jocke

Jocke,

you're talking about the Oracle hanging
issue, right? Yes, that one is fixed in MapGuide 6.3. However, the
formerly added registry parameters are still available and
functional.

I still have hanging problems with MG 6.3.1.3. I have tried
the "Health Restart Enabled" (with spaces) registry key and the associated threshold. We'll see if that helps.

Are there any other reports of remaining problems with SDO data sources? (This one is the latest 9i.)
