DWG Data Sources and file permissions

I have a MWF file using a DWG data source to a drawing. All works well until
the drawing is opened by another user on the network. When this happens,
MapGuide does not allow me to view the drawing layers and says that it is
"Unable to gain read access" to that drawing file.
Any ideas how to get around this? Is there a setting in AutoCAD or the
MapGuide server which would allow the file to be open in AutoCAD and
accessed by MapGuide simultaneously?

This is an AutoCAD limitation and you will not be allowed to open the file
in two sessions, whether one is AutoCAD and the other is MapGuide. You
could use Autodesk Map DWG attach and query functionality to get around this
or set up a daily script to copy the needed DWG's to a location that only
MapGuide uses.

In Autodesk MapGuide Server Admin see General->Maximum number of cached DWG
file connections:
By setting this value to 0 the server will release every DWG immediately
after use. This either allows the DWG to be opened in AutoCAD or allows
updated DWGs to be copied to the server over the originals.

The problem that still remains is that of MapGuide accessing the DWG while
AutoCAD has it open. The suggested editing model is a 'publish model'.
1. Edit the DWG in a location remote from the server.
2. Copy the updated DWG to the server's DWG folder. If the 'DWG caching' is
set to 0 on the server this can be accomplished without conflict.
