Bing Maps license key conditions flexible web layout

Hello,

when using a flexible web layout it's possible to add a Bing Maps base layer.

However the Infrastructure Studio interface mentions there's no API key required when using Bing Maps.

Is this based on some agreement with Microsoft and if so how will this be guaranteed for future use?

When I check the normal terms and conditions for Bing Maps I would definetly need an API key for intranet applications.

If I do need an API key where do I have to put it in the code or xml files?

Thanks,

Raf Vanlathem

API-keyless use of Bing is possible because Fusion uses the OpenLayers.Layer.VirtuaEarth class to request bing tiles.

However this class is deprecated and is removed from the latest release of OpenLayers. Fusion is not currently using the latest release of OpenLayers which is why you still have API-keyless use of Bing in Fusion.

So currently, no API key required for but most likely required in a future release.
