Hatches drafted by layer are assigned individual styles in Impressions

Sorry if this is a repeat but my search didn't find anything similar.

I have several hatches in my CAD drawing (a landscape plan).  Everything is drafted By Layer.  However, when I bring my CAD drawing into Impressions, the hatches remain on the same layer as they should but each hatch is assigned a different style!  Not only does this not make any sense but now it is very labor intensive to render the drawing because I can't just assign a new Impression style to the hatch layer and have everything rendered with one easy step - which I thought was the whole goal of this software.  Is there something I should be doing in the import step or is this a bug?

I am using Autocad Map 3D and Impressions 3

Thanks in advance for any insights anyone has on this matter...
