Major and Minor Rev Ability

Major and Minor Rev Ability

I like how Fusion does the autosaves but I am not in love with the idea that everytime I save something it revs up.  Sometimes I just need to toggle visibility on something or some other minor change where no rev is needed but if I dont save it then I can view the file like that in an assembly or later.  Im OK with it though.  What I really would like to see is a way for you to save a model state and do a major rev that retains associativity.  For example, I have a project with a 3d printed enclosure for some electonics that sits on a drone.  Now every time I actually print this part I would like to do a mojor rev to save that design state as its own entity, without having to note somewhere that I printed rev XY.  I currently do this by saving a copy and bumping the major rev manually, but by doing this I have to also manually reinsert files into larger assemblies which can be an ordeal depending on the file sizes.  It would be great if when you saved you had the option to bump your revs manually.  Any more control over revs would be great.

I am completely on board with this one. Some assemblies can get pretty complex and it would be great to be able to just rev the additions without having to import and rev+ copies of the original to make additions.

Turn off automatic save on close.

And you can further tune it by turning off automatic versioning or the time interval between auto version

Not exactly cover your suggestions but this is what I set for Fusion, it works great and it solves that pesky, I just turn on and off components and doesn't need another version to be made and it'll force you to do something like a "save" when you close you model, this naming convention helps a lot when you need to recover a previous version or such.

How does one get into the preview program?

I'm hoping to get quick access to a possible bug fix.

Thanks!

@keqingsong,

Thanks for the heads up on the review program.

I posted on the forum about it.  2D Pocket Selection on the CAM module is having some serious difficulties.  I believe there are a couple tickets that have been put in on it, since the last post here, but i did the best to document it.  You can see it here:  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/chain-selection-causes-unwanted-selection/td...
