Intelligent Bars

Intelligent Bars

Let's get the bars to display a little bit more intuitiveness.

For this discussion, I am looking initially at the CAM side of things, since that is where I spend the majority of my time in Fusion.

If I am working on a MILL Setup, I should not have to see anything in regards to Turning, as my setup is not capable of that (Lets say I'm programming a part for a mill)

It's my assumption that most CAM users who run both Mills and Lathes most likely have toolbar real estate tied up with commonly used Turning Icons, as well as frequently used Mill Icons (2D and 3D). I'm running out of space myself, so I can guess that others are as well.

Moving that idea into the Modeling environment:

Let's I'm doing a sketch. How about we allow the toolbar to be almost entirely related to Sketching. None of the other irrelevant icons to sketching, such as Create, Modify, Insert, Make, Add-ins and other non sketch related icons. More real estate devoted to the task at hand, while we are doing the task at hand. When we switch tasks, the appropriate toolbars become active and front and center.

Context sensitive toolbars are the wave of the present.  We should already have them.

Thanks for the idea! We have plans to make workspaces more efficient by introducing tabbed environments where if you're in sketch, you'll only see sketch tools, etc. We need to further investigate how we make tool in the CAM workspace more context-aware.
