degrees of freedom in sketch

degrees of freedom in sketch

Make degrees of freedom in a sketch visible. Same like Inventor.

At the moment it is very hard to see if a sketch or parts of a sketch are still movable..

This exists in the current opt in preview options. Turn it on and sketch geometry will go from blue to black when fully constrained.

@Aphoenicis In complex sketches it makes sense to know the degrees of freedom of every point. Then you can just add the constraints or dimensions needed to fully constrain it or add specific constraints so that it is just movable in the direction you want it to.

@FabisFusionTutorials,

Thank you for your idea.  We are working on getting under constrained vs. fully constrained into sketch.  This is one way to visually see what can be moved.  While this does not show how geometry can move, it shows what can move.  We find that many users traditionally drag what can be moved to see how it will move.  Once fully constrained is out, we will evaluate if more feedback to users is needed.

Thank you,
