Custom Sketch/DXF-profile library

Custom Sketch/DXF-profile library

It would be practical to have a library for your custom Sketch-geometries/DXF profiles like for example:

  • Logo's
  • Frequently used center-bore profiles (this would be an option for the hole wizard)
  • Turning tool-plate-profiles to use in your sketch
  • Tooth forms (Wire EDM/Laser-cutting)
  • Frequently used text/tables at drawings
  • Custom milling/turning profiles

Then accessible in all the Fusion environments (Model/Sculpt/Drawing/CAM). This would be a efficient workflow to get access to your custom geometries/profiles.

(I replied with this idea at this topic with the discussion about blocks):

Could you not do this by uploading your DXFs in a project via the Data Panel, where each project is it's own library?

Actually you will use these profiles mostly in sketches. So it would be easy to have an fast accessible library where your can get these from to import them in your current sketch.

Is there a way to insert an uploaded DXF from your data panel directly to a sketch, like the way you insert a DXF from a local file ?

I don't think there is, however you could do a local insert of DXF in an blank sketch, then save that design as a new file in the data panel. Once it is saved, you can then insert that design into another design by right clicking the saved dxf design and select "insert into existing design". That should work and should allow you to build a library of dxfs. Would that work for you as a workaround?

Yes, this will be the best workaround for now. Thank you
