Automation of multiple copying when moving

Automation of multiple copying when moving

Such a function is in SketchUp, CATIA, 3D MAX, this is extremely useful when doing design frames and racks where the Assembly of similar elements. Arrays in this situation does not quite fit. Sometimes you do concept products in nonparametric mode and you need a quick to develop, fast copy is very useful.

Just want to check you know that you can select a body, right click in the browser, copy and when you paste you get the move dialog to position the copy and you can keep pasting until you have enough copies.

I was doing exactly, but I'm worn out every time to copy and paste, while poking around in the browser. I had about 30 shelves together with fasteners to them, and I had to highlight a component in the browser, looked through the parts lists, it's hard.

OK just wanted to make sure. One thing that might help is to set the selection filter to Body or Component then you can right click the Body\Component in the work area.

I did in the beginning.Filters are needed in special cases, they are not always convenient to use due to the fact that it is necessary to constantly switch.

Everything should be consistent enough to be intuitive to the flow of action during design. The dialog and the context menu have to be smart to hint that it is possible to do, as you can see the icon for the filet, if you click the right mouse button on the selected edge.

It could be possible when you move to choose what to move: the object or a copy of it, those who make designs of identical components, where a lot of the fasteners, those will understand me very well. The copy when moving option in Sketchup (Ctrl+Move), Adobe Illustratorм (Alt+drag), CATIA (sketcher), all this adds convenience and flexibility.

I also did not quite understand why need to copy when moving, but when I started to design repeating elements in a random location, then I get it, it saved me a lot of time. When I designed the racks in Fusion 360, I this copy is extremely lacking.
