The idea behind this feature is while creating dimensions, sometimes it is necessary for certain profile to be driven using the perimeter. For example, in case of a rectangle, we add length & width. With this there is a default perimeter which we can measure using the Inspect. But if we could able to fix perimeter of a profile using dimension and drive other dimensions based on the perimeter, there are variety of exploration options that can be brought in. In case of the example I mentioned, for a rectangle with length 10 mm and width 5 mm, the perimeter will be 30 mm. If I give perimeter as dimension 30mm gets fixed and I make width 5 mm as a variable dimension. Then if I change the perimeter to 25 mm, the length will be 10 mm (as it is constant not made as a variable one), and the width will become 2.5 mm. If it is rectangular profile it is easy to manage using iLogic. If the profile involves multiple arcs and curves to it, then it will be difficult to handle it as we cannot derive the proper formulae for inorganic sketches. This feature can essentially be used in different profile designs such a bike frames, tanks, vessels, etc.
