Working on my last project (it's an concrete structure, about 150 000 nodes and 170 000 FE-s) I was extremely annoyed by Robot Str 2013 general performance. For example, changing an load value is operation with time consumption not less that half of minute on quite modern hardware (core i7 etc.). Changing values in tables is not much quicker...
I understand that you can recommend to use diaphagms instead shell etc, but in general - performance of Robot is not the best one, I can say the worst one. Now it is 2013 year and yes, sometimes we have to analyse and calculate models with more than 3 bars...
Here I do not speak of calculating time, meshing time - it's only problem of general performance, for example, changing load values in large scale models. So, my Idea is to optimize code (I'm fully understand that it can take a lot of time) to make Robot works much quicker.
Problem: The table editing tools in Robot are slow and have poor functionality. Usually it is better to copy the table to Excel and edit it there, but this can cause trouble (example: planar loads on contour becoming planar loads in my experience). Besides, for small changes this should not be neccessary.
Solution: Advanced table editing module or two way link to excel for all tables. Allows quick editing of tables, making changes to the model only when the user clicks apply.
When we select a node by indicating its number, it is marked with a green color spot in the structure but if the structure is a little more than simlpe it's difficult for the user to see where it is... It should be marked by a different (more clear) way, for instance the node could be enclosed in a small circle in order to be visible.
When running non-linear analysis, different combinations should be computed simultaneously in separate threads. This would make such calculation almost an order of magnitude faster.
A general update in push over analysis should take place.
There are several issues that must be resolved in order this type of analysis to be completed in Robot. Some of these are already posted, for instance the following links:
..and many others like the ability to set a starting case (usually containing dead and live loads) before the push over analysis e.t.c (I think that some of them are already posted as SR in Subscription Center).

It's bad that Robot doesn't have an option to display diagram of requred shear reinforcement area (stirrups) in RC beams and columns.
Now, it's just able to show stirrup spacing as a diagram.
As an addition to following post:
Once we are in a new window e.g. with Panels-all selected + Edit new window
displays only panels from the file.
I find very useful if it be possible to select only between the displayed elements by clicking on the "structural axis"
Actually if an axis is selected, (in the New Window) all the elements and nodes (from the file belonging to this axis) are selected regardless if those are "absent" or not.
If the selection is only of the displayed elements, those elements can be handled easily.

As for now after each collecting of phases it is necessary to re-define all combinations of load cases from different phases.
In most of cases repetition of collecting of phases is resulting from some modifications in single phases and necessity to re-calculate the model after it. After such modifications the new collecting is done for precisely the same list of phases.
In such case implementation of the update of collected phase (instead of generation of the new one) would simplify necessary users' action and result in very simple way to preserve in collected phase already defined combinations of load cases from different phases.
It is the feature which would significantly improve the usability of phase structures in modeling of sequential construction.
Developp a plugin to import and refresh Rhino model made from the Grasshopper component.
It allows complex parametric design with a minimum of code and it tends to be quite popular amoung the design community. It can be also used for formfindding problem etc ...
Some project are currently under developpement and I think Autodesk team shall be part of it or open a project like Octopus on that.
Stories Tables :
1.reduced forces should be given either, by each storie, and cumulative from stories above (same as displacement). these effort to be given at the bottom of the storie.
1.Copying storie from a level to another shoud copy all element belonging to it, especially loads affected to its elements , regardless the way it was defined ( loads on contour , linear loads …)
2.indicating the value of load when draging the mouse over.
Export to RC design :
1.Names assigned manually to elements in RSA should be retrieved when exported to correspondant RC design.
2.adding preference of soil definition and optimisation pattern to be applicated to set of Foundation at once
