Tiger strips/a surface defect, which often occurs in the injection molding, is characterized by a cyclic sequence of shiny and matt stripes at the flow front.
The physical cause of the occurrence of tiger stripes, is the re-melting of already frozen outer layers the thermally damaged material reaches the surface and leads to spots with a matter shininess in appearance.
It is possible with calculated plots with some relations, which is being used by some raw material suppliers.
Mold flow should introduce Tiger strips occurrence plot.
I may be bit lazy to ask this option, but I feel it must be.
1. There must be a option to transfer process parameters, including material details from one study to another study.
or else every time with new study or with new mesh needed to apply the inputs from previous iterations.
2.There must be a option to export process parameters, including material details from one study as a file & that should imported to other new study or with new mesh, when ever needed to apply the inputs from previous iterations.
An Option to Dump results in between the analysis
In Sigma soft (competitor software similar to mold flow),
there is a option to dump the analysis in between, then stop the analysis. The, next time you open the study and re- launch the analysis, it will start analysis from where you stopped it.
In mold flow, we need similar option
i.e In Between; we can stop analysis instead of aborting and close the study. Then,we can re-run from, where we had stopped it. So that we can save time, incase we need to abort the analysis & re-run after some time,
I would like to add the ability to open Logs file of a job that is running without having to open the file itself. Important as 3d files get larger and larger. At times I do not want to open the model due to the amount of RAM required if I am already near limit of RAM. I see this often during cooling analyses.
we have script to generate thickness plot, which can be added to results or exported to MFR(communicator file)
It should be readily available command or option in moldflow as many users dont have script to generate thickness plot
It's been well documented that 3d gates are much more accurate than beam element gates for 3d models. So I'd like the ability to create a dual-domain mesh from beam elements for gates. I would use this to easily create 3d gates. The technology to do this already exists when you create tool files for Cool(FEM). But it's a real pain to do that to a whole tool just to get a gate.
I am ok with having to stich the new gate in myself.
When there are large undercuts surfaces the clamp force is overestimated.
You have to select double surfaces and manually exclude from clamp force calculation.
This operation should be automatic.
I know this is an old point but wanted to emphasize it as it really influences our work with the software.
We have defined several macros and commands by which we work with the software. Examples would be
a.) generation of wall thickness results to be exported
b.) marking of standard results for report
Normally we work with multiple instances of the software. Every time we want to export some results, we have to
change the opened projects as we only have access to macros/command line on the first instance.
It would be very helpful to have macros/command lines available in every instance.

today if you use global merge it merges over all layers, visible or not visible.
Global merge need also an option to work only on visible entities, and not for all layers and parts in a study.
For example, when using split / tiled windows ,
if we select query results a part of the model on one windo, then at same time we would like to select the query results in another window of split screen, the the previously selected query on the other window dissappears

when defining a sequential gating and the valve gates are controlled by flow front and trigger nodes and the user is changing f.e. a location of a injection location AND is using "global merge" the nodes are renumbered.
afterwards all the triggernodes have to be defined completely new.
when simulating big parts with lots of injection locations this can be annoying.
or the filling behaves in a unexpected way because the triggernodes have changed. when simulation time is very long this is recognised to late.
solution 1.: lock the trigger node numbering. so the trigger node keep their number, even when all nodes are renumbered
solution 2: highlite the triggernode location by f.e. an clearly visible arrow
solution 3: change the way to define triggernodes or triggerlocations.
at the moment the user has to "remember" the trigger node. then swich to the property of the valve gate or change to the valve gate timing tab and enter the trigger node.
this could be more comfortable. like f.e. after highliting a node and rightclick, a menue could appear and the user could define "define this node for valve gate XY"

Time to reach ejection temperature, Part and Runner –there is limitation in Moldflow
Time to reach ejection temperature (cold runner) - shows only for feed system elements with beam elements.
Time to reach ejection temperature (part) shows for feed system elements with tetra elements as well as part tetra elements.
Everytime that I start SIM360 Moldflow the mesher and the solver are set by default as "in cloud". It would be very useful to have the possibility of setting them in as "locally" by default.
I'd like to see a throughput result for 3D flow analysis, as it sums up the Flow rate, beams result for the whole analysis.
Otherwise I would have to do Dual Domain flow analysis in parallel just to get this result. Or did I miss anything?
It should be a maximize button for material search result window.
In this way you can directly compare different materials with filters you imposed for searching.
Actually you have to drag the window after a new search.
