Since there is no official Navisworks Idea Station, this idea goes in this thread:   I would like to see Navisworks support for AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data attribute information.   This would be beneficial to have available on 3D Solids for example next to the already available Property Set Definitions (ancient AutoCAD Architecture technology) which does get translated into Navisworks. I speak about the vector graphic not the hatch 13D) Display (Yes/No) if no overlay/overlap with a hatch (coming from a polygon). Something relative to 13B/13C/13D wish : be able to give a Radius to find somewhere a "free" seat for the text/label if possible !   And PLEASE display Labels for special surface (U or L form) where the centroid is outside !! with a new special option : Display the Label at the Centroid (maybe outside) OR display somewhere ALWAYS INSIDE !!   Have you alreday worked with FDO Map, where you have many many thousands FDO Labels, it's SLOW ! "GeoPackage" is the format of the future: http://www.geopackage.org/ It has to become the new "Shapefile", but without all the limitations shapefiles comes with. It's already supported by QGIS. And it has to be integrated in Map 3D! Because: GeoPackage is an open, standards-based, platform-independent, portable, self-describing, compact format for transferring geospatial information. Since a GeoPackage is a database, it supports direct use, meaning that its data can be accessed and updated in a "native" storage format without intermediate format translations.   And, it exists already an ili2gpkg Package: http://www.eisenhutinformatik.ch/interlis/ili2pg/ for easier Interlis 2 importation. In this dialogue for gradient hatches I am missing the option to set gradient color two to none or to set the transparency individually for the two colors.   Therefore it is impossible for example to create a circle with a color in the center and letting the color disappear towards the edge.   Example created with photoshop:   Show More

Do not minimize GIS world, I think there should be also an official AutoCAD map 3D facebook page. Even on autodesk appstore there is not AutoCAD Map 3D category. As a Geographic Engineering i can feel Autodesk minimizing the GIS world while Esri, Qgis community and others are giving much importance on that bringing remote sensing and photogrametry and much more on it, Autodesk would power the AutoCAD raster Design and its results shoud reflect on Map 3D Taskpane, GIS is a world not only a small thing for Civil Engineers as Autodesk shows.   Rosario Dilo Autodesk student user since 2009 and mingrating as a profissional user and advisor once have closed the university. Improved integration with feature data storage using FDO.   We need better and more seamless CAD/GIS integration, and FDO should bridge that gap much better than it currently does. There should be a way of mapping Autocad objects to FDO database columns so that virtually everything related to the CAD object is dynamically stored in the database in such a way that the original object can easily be retrieved from GIS back into Autocad without loss of data or visual representation.   Example: I want to store all of my fire hydrants in a corporate GIS database yet still have them available in Autocad with standard block symbology. Currently I have a few choices: 1. Maintain two disparate datasets, one in CAD and one in GIS; 2. Use third party software (eg. Safe FME) to translate my CAD blocks to GIS; 3. Connect my GIS database using FDO, create a new hydrant feature, then manually enter whatever attributes I want to associate with the hydrant. What I envision. Use GIS database as primary data storage, attach GIS via FDO, insert fire hydrant block in drawing as standard CAD block symbol, create new FDO feature object from block and have things like BLOCK NAME, ROTATION, LAYER, ATTRIBUTE VALUE(S) etc, automatically read from the drawing and fed into my FDO database with not much more than the click of a button. Then when the hydrants are retrieved from GIS they come back into Autocad as exactly the same fire hydrant block object they were created as in the first place.   This concept should not be limited simply to Autocad Blocks, but needs to also work with lines, polylines, polygons, and especially needs to include Object Data attached to any of the objects.   Benefits: A single authoritative data store, equally available to both GIS and CAD users. Simplified and more accurate workflow. True CAD/GIS integration allowing the strengths of both platforms to be fully harnessed. Show More

Autodesk needs to fix the bug where Mr. Sid images and ECW images shift while in a rotated viewport. This bug has existed since Map 2009 and C3D 2009 and has yet to be fixed after six version updates. It has been logged as a defect already, but Autodesk only has it listed for 2014 and 2015 (and now 2016). After years people loving Autodesk but Autodesk do not give hears to us. Alot of troubleshootings and ideas are here but Autodesk did not move a needle, AutoCAd Map 3D, AutoCAD Raster Design just returned (those ones had to be integrated), can not beleave that until now Map 3D can not even open Kml / Kmz from Fdo connection.
