It would be great to have the ability to have reports run on a certain time interval and then emailed automatically. The time interval and recipients could be chosen when setting up the report. Either having the report printed in html in the body of the email or have an excel file attached to the email would work.
For example: I would like a report to run every Friday and be sent to certain people.
It would be very helpful to have picklists for Groups that are created that is similar to the Users, ALL by Name picklist. This way, the users would only have to be maintained in the Group and not in a manually entered picklist as well.
I've run into a problem where I created a "Basic Workspace with workflow" but did not immediately define any workflow. I'm now 100 records into using the workspace and ready to define a workflow. But I've learned that any workflow I add will only apply to new records, not be retroactive to pre-workflow ones. This is counterintuitive as changes to workflows immediately apply to all records regardless of when they were created. I consider "adding" a workflow to be a "change" and should also apply to all records. Now I have some records with workflow and some without... in the same workspace.
My suggestion is that when a “Basic Workspace with workflow” is created it is pre-populated with at least one default state. This will make it clear when creating records that the workspace is intended to have a workflow and to make it possible to fully define the workflow later on.
To aide breaking down of a BOM View into lists for different purposes the custom BOM view is great. But when you have multiple functional areas looking at that information such as Procurement, Fabrication, Wharehouse etc. it would be nice to be able to filter the list to show only items in the BOM that met a specific criteria. Similar to the way Excell uses it Autofilter.
The idea would be that you have a filter row you could pick or enter the filter than apply and the currently displayed view would get filtered to show only matching items (parent items could be included if that causes issues). This functionality would be used for both Nested and Flat BOM Views.
What are the chances that the Autodesk team could come up with a solution to change future Field Data Types and not lose all previous saved data.
I have come across this a number of times. I am wanting to keep the same data, but learning the system and its capabilities I have found more efficient ways to pull the data along. The current way is running a report and using an excel spreadsheet to re-populate the fields (which is a strenuous process, for me)
It would be great to have a matrix built based on a dynamic data set, like color and size; You could specificy sizes across the top and colors along the sides and allow the user to enter values at the intersection of both values, like indicate if this combination is offered or not. This would eliminate the need to hard code the values in a matrix every time new valuse are added and make the matrix more useful over all.
