We are deriving information from a workspace.Sometimes the derived information needs to be edited. We don't want to edit the workspace it is deriving from.
For example: I have a worksapce with a list of approved builders and I have another workspace with a filtered picklist that references that list of builders and imports fields as derived. However, sometimes a builder that we want to use is not in our list and we want to add it as a temporary only and not add it to our list of approved builders.
In the approved builders list if there was an option for "other" that would trigger the fields that are derived to be editable.
This is strictly a UI type improvement. We have multiple use cases where allowing for public reports to be opened from the dashboard report section would help greatly. These could be anything from open user tasks (non-WF related) in certain workspaces or a list of open project items. Our users have repeatedly asked for that even if the information is two clicks away in the reports section. This would be benefitial when you have reports that you use to drive process rather than make decisions. Especially because the charts do not have drill down capability.
Currently the clone permission is inherently tied to the edit item permission. Has there been any discussion on making that a unique permission. Specifically in by determining if the item details can be cloned as well as allowing the BOM, relationships, or grid to be cloned as well. The use case would be to restrict part or BOM cloning to key individuals. I could also see the use case where you would want to restrict cloning of the attachments or relationships.
Looking for navigation similarly to what we see for the item details in a workspace. Basically the ability to filter/sort columns and save views on the grid tab. Some of these features are already allowed on the BOM tab (though views are admin controlled). This would be particularly important if multiple grid tabs were allowed in the future.
In our Design Review process, it's sometimes necessary to check-out multiple items or even the complete contents of a folder (sometimes numbering in the hundreds). It would be a real time saver if there could be a group, bulk or folder check-in / check-out that would elimnate having to check individual items one by one.
After searching, I have not seen a similar request to this one; so am adding it here now.
We would like to see there be a way to select all the items in the list when adding items to Managed Items. There can be from 30 to hundreds of items that match a given mask and which are to be added as Managed Items. Clicking on the 'Select' checkbox for all of them would take too much time, and would lead to user frustration and the possibility of missing desired items.
