I had always find sorting the BOM a really headache whenever I add or remove items from my BOM.
The items in a BOM is tag to a running number.
See attched screen shot example. I had removed item 1.74 from my BOM and I need to add another 5 items into the BOM but my nightmare is that the BOM is not sorted according to the item number. If I need to add 5 items, it will appeared right at the end of the list. If I want to have them probably sorted, I need to make changes to the running number one by one.
Can I suggest that the BOM item list should be sorted according to their item number or may be a sort button provide to users to give them a choice to choose to sort their BOM.
I was experimenting with adding items to the Project Management tab and having added a start date, I moved to adding finish dates. It would enhance the usability, reduce errors and save time if the calendar interface for the finish date started with the start date (or at least the month of the start date) so you can then pick from there. It isn't a problem if the start date is today or in the near future, but if the start date is not for a couple of months, then it would just save having to click through ahead a month or 2,3 4 etc from the calendar which currently comes up with today's date as default.
There is a validation check to stop you being able to save a task as ending before it has begun, but obviously that then takes more time to correct, which could have been avoided if the calendar steered things this way to start with.
I'd love to see more robust script management. Ideally I'd like to see the ability to officially version or rev scripts. In addition to the Save button, you could add a button for Version. This would store the script in its current state with the appropriate verison number.
In addition, I'd like to review previous versions of the script and have the option of making a previous version the current version.
It would be VERY useful to allow a tenant to be divided into secure "Projects" so that access to information relating to different projects could be controlled centrally. This should allow workspaces to be managed centrally, but used optionally on each project. Similarly, roles should be managed centrally, but users are given a role on each project allowing them to have differing levels of access. This model is already used to good effect in Buzzsaw.
My company is just about to start using PLM360 and therefor need to import our BOM. Problem is that all our sourcing information that we have cannot be imported. This is a serious problem for setting up the system, as we don't want to go through our 200 or so components and manually input this information.
At the moment its very easy to flood the 'My Outstanding Work' area of the home page with Items which aren't actually related to the user. It devalues the use of the 'My Outstanding Work' section & over time conditions the user to ignore it all together.
I understand there are ways to control this. However, it needs to be dramatically simplified, i.e: achieving this behaviour without the need for scripting.
Under the reports section, Admin should be allowed to create a System Log Report to see what users are logging in, when they log in and how often. This would help management monitor user behavior and analyze it.
If a user imports a large number of new items (not BOM items) and realizes a mistake has been made. Now the user has to delete all these item through the UI, which is very painful. The user would like to perform a mass delete with a list of specific items.
It would be nice for the user to use the existing match functionality in the import tool, with the option to delete existing records on match.
