IF would be great if I could include fields from BOM children where the child is located in a deifferent workspace. Would like to be able to do this in print views and BOM views.

Status: Accepted
by Product Support on ‎04-17-2014 09:53 AM

It would be great and useful to have a more robust Advance Print view edtior, that included Tabs for full html editing, along with an attached CSS editor.

Example:

Tab one: current editor with ablity to add elements

Tab two: Full html editor

Tab three: CSS editor

Tab four: Preview of edits not based on dmsID for layout views (color background etc...)

Reports and Advanced print views.

by Product Support on ‎01-28-2014 08:29 AM

It would be great if we could:

Have the ability to choose a report as an element (in advance print view) and then have it embedded in the email sent out.

and/or

Choosing a report and the file type of the attachment, and have that sent out with the advance print view.

Multiple sorting view

Status: Solution Provided
by Active Contributor adminplm360 on ‎06-25-2013 11:24 AM

There should be an option to set more than one sorting options in the views. So first sort items by date and then by item number for example.

You have this in the report tool.

In Advance Print View allow for tiered viewing option for Program management timeline.

Currently the timeline only shows the top tier value.

It would be great if the element allowed for a switch to say how many “levels / tiers” down should be also show.

It would be Awesome, if at the time of printing a prompt could be added to ask how many tiers one wanted to show for the print out.

Advanced Print Views

Status: Future Consideration
by james.n.tennent on ‎03-19-2013 05:26 PM

Hi Everyone

I would really love some improvements from the advanced print view

1. I need a way of having global control over all print views. eg, if I have a company footer then I want to change It once and apply to all print views however this is just an example and It would be useful for a lot more then that.

2. I have created the print view I want in HTML and I have It looking the way I need It however It looks horrible when I put It into PLM 360, It appears that the HTML code used by PLM is very old and is not able to read CSS at all, even if It is embedded into the html code itself.

I really need this to be resolved, currently I am not able to create anything near professional enough to give to a client.

Attached is a screen shot of the report straight in Chrome, the other is what It looks like coming out of PLM. It will not take you long to work out which one is out of PLM.

Thanks Autodesk

Regards,

James Tennent

HI James, We recognize the need to improve our advance print view. We will add this to our enhancement list. If you have a formatted form in excel, you can bring into the Advance Print View. You need adjust the setting to fit to a page, along with removing some unwanted grid lines. You can highlight the entire form in excel and crtl V (paste) into the box window. This will allow to have a pre-design form in PLM. Some of my customers have utilized this feature for simple quote sheet or print out. And use the widget to preset the item fields http://help.autodesk.com/view/PLM/ENU/?guid=GUID-5656EE8A-2DB3-476A-AF53-BCF14541EDC4 thanks, Trung

Hyperlink in Advanced Print Views

Status: Comments Requested
by Contributor sdibben on ‎12-23-2012 05:59 PM

I'm using the advanced print view in an email script to notify a user of an action needed.  I would like the ability to add a hyperlink to the PLM item in the advanced print view.

You could build this today, however it's very convoluted... I've added a feature request to help automate this process. This should be easy do to!

More Custom Print Capability

Status: Future Consideration
by Distinguished Contributor obourne on ‎08-21-2012 03:04 PM

Previously I was able to create a custom print/form in 360 and it worked well enough BUT I could have used more functionality.

I would prefer to be able to use a scanned document as the basis of my custom print. In that custom print I want to overlay the desired fields in the correct spacial location on the scanned document. In usage within an item I want a particupant to see the document directly an enter in the required feilds as needed (error checking and all). This is the same workflow as filling in a PDF file but instead it would 360-matized.

Status: Future Consideration
I'm going to move this down in the list for now.
