We are increasingly faced with the requirement that existing vault environments must be supplemented by additional properties fields (on the document and on the article). These properties should then be mapped into the CAD documents (Inventor) and transferred back to the article. Create properties and mapping = no problem. The whole thing works perfectly with newly created documents and related articles. However, if you want to revise the database, you have a very long and tough odyssey in front of you. The properties must be added to the inventory documents manually. If it is a matter of properties (yes - no - boolean), I have not found a way to distribute the property to multiple documents by drag and drop after a multiselect. To the best of our knowledge, all documents must be checked out, changed, saved and checked in again, since the BOMBOLB is only written in the vault after this procedure and the information is therefore only available on the article by updating. In addition, you can then add the corresponding properties to all existing articles. With a database of 300,000 articles with documents, this is very time consuming. Is there a simplified way for the described procedure? If so, what does it look like? If not, is a solution known about 3rd party tools? or Would that be a requirement for the idea station that one e.g. can create a user interface update for the linked objects (article and document) when creating a new property. Or push an update on the ADMS?
