When I want to relinquish ownership of a file(s) and uncheck this box, I often don't want to apply it to all the files, but because there is not other method at this point but to go into the vault and regain ownership of the files that you want. In this case I have a factory file that I am checking in certain members and want to release ownership of, but not the parent factory file. I would like to see this option be able to select which files to apply this to.
We are using VP 2013 and Dynamics Axapta in our company. We export complete BOM's with DWF files to DAX. Problem is that you don't know if DWF is out of date or system controlled(made by job server). So before release we check the top of the BOM with the pack and go function. This gives you an answer if the DWF are out of date. We then have to send the out of date files to job server for a new file.
Could there be a function that said check DWF files to the BOM before release? And if the BOM has files that are out of date or not system generated, send the complete list to job server for update.

Please remove the "Details" button that expands the Warning/Error message windows. In my experience the average user doesn't even SEE the button. The button only hides relevant information from the user.
I'm curious what prompted the creation of the "Details" button in the first place?
Very minor, not important. But a slight irritation when having to explain this function to users.
The 'Group By' button which appears on the 'Parts Only' view of an Item BOM, when hovering the mouse cursor over this button there is no tooltip describing what this is. Literally every other button has a tooltip except this one. The button still works, but it's a nuisance for when telling users which button does which job, I have to describe it via it's proximity to something else rather than the tooltip which is a standard go-to for Windows Applications.
I would like a way to create a saved search in Vault workgroup that allows me to see if any files in a certain folder are newer than what is saved on my desktop. I can create one if I have a numerical value for the Vault version, but not one that identifies what files are at a different version than what is on my desktop. This will work great for 2D or 3D part libraries in which there are multiple subfolders under one main folder and it is also updated by anyone. Currently, I must go through each subfolder to know what is al a different state. This would allow me to at a glance see if anything in my library is out of date and use the files on my desktop instead of checking them out everytime.
We are just starting to use Inventor Publisher, and I've found that the Vault integration is a little too simplistic. Currently I can't use the Where Used tab on a component or assembly to see if it is used in a Publisher document. Also, I can't use the Uses tab on the Publisher document to see the component files. Doing a Copy Design on an IAM file should give the option to also copy the Publisher document. Basically, Vault should work with Publisher the same way that it works with Inventor. It will be hard to control a revision scheme to Publisher literature documents if I can't use Vault to check against the component files. I may do a dimensionsal change to a component and have no idea that component is used in a Publisher document. Now my literature is incorrect and nobody has any idea unless they open the Publisher file. It's a problem that I can easily see happening.
