There should be a priview-like the prview in the Windows explorer-for common files like:

*PDF

*PowerPoint

*Word

*pictures

...

There should be at least a thumbnail of the file's first page. The best variant would be preview where the user can scroll through!

Thank you for posting this idea. I have merge another post with this one as they are asking for the same feature enhancement.

Hello,

We are using VP 2013 and Dynamics Axapta in our company. We export complete BOM's with DWF files to DAX. Problem is that you don't know if DWF is out of date or system controlled(made by job server). So before release we check the top of the BOM with the pack and go function. This gives you an answer if the DWF are out of date. We then have to send the out of date files to job server for a new file.

Could there be a function that said check DWF files to the BOM before release? And if the BOM has files that are out of date or not system generated, send the complete list to job server for update.

Visualization Watermarks by Category & State

Status: Accepted
by *Expert Elite* on ‎09-26-2013 07:23 AM

Right now Item Visualization watermarks are limited to being set by Lifecycle state, and of course in Item Master you cannot add lifecycle states.  I would like to be able to set them by state AND category.  For example, a production print, set to Released, would say Approved For Construction... whereas a quote print, also released, would say something like Proposal - Not Approved.... or somehting like that.

Just needs to be more flexibility in general on watermarks.  The user or admin should have more options and control.

Because when I'm trying to research functions I need to be able to open multiple pages/tabs in the help.

I'd suggest keeping it restricted to Autodeskers for editing of course.

EXCEL LINKED

Status: Future Consideration
by Active Contributor jorge.lopera on ‎02-15-2013 09:38 AM

Hi, for project where there's different skateholders and users, It would be nice to build a Dashboard from the project using different excel linked,

There's a post at the forum where somebody asks how to check-in two xls files linked and checkin at time.

At this moment, when you try to checkin an xls file with links with anothers xls files, Vault doesn`t recognize that link....

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, at this time this is a limitation as to how much excel exposes it links through the API.

We need to be able to control the background color independently.

AutoCad Black background

Inventor White Background

Not one or the other!

What background are you referring to?

Hello,

We are just starting to use Inventor Publisher, and I've found that the Vault integration is a little too simplistic.  Currently I can't use the Where Used tab on a component or assembly to see if it is used in a Publisher document.  Also, I can't use the Uses tab on the Publisher document to see the component files.  Doing a Copy Design on an IAM file should give the option to also copy the Publisher document.  Basically, Vault should work with Publisher the same way that it works with Inventor.  It will be hard to control a revision scheme to Publisher literature documents if I can't use Vault to check against the component files.  I may do a dimensionsal change to a component and have no idea that component is used in a Publisher document.  Now my literature is incorrect and nobody has any idea unless they open the Publisher file.  It's a problem that I can easily see happening.

revit project parameter extraction

It would be very usefull when Vault extracts the Revit (*.rvt) parameters used for project information within the title block in a way like Inventor / Autocad.

This would give Revit users more search/organize possibilities.

For some complex assembly, there are several independent drawings  to represent it with same part number but  different sheet number.

If there is some changes on any one of these drawings, we hope to add all of these drawings to run  file-based ECO, then we could keep them with same revision.

At the moment we provide the "Add Related" function on the Records tab when creating an ECO. Does this meet your requirements?
