Sheets of paper simulation

Hi;

I'm kinda stuck with this. What would be the most efficient way of simulating sheets of paper, perhaps reaching numbers in the thousands, in Softimage?

I'm providing a video example below (youtube)

You might want to take a look at the Particle_Motion_Control_Leaves_Falling.scn scene in the XSI_SAMPLES\ICE folder.
