i-drop Enhancer Extension Developer

Does anyone know about what differences might be in IE7 that would cause idop not to work? Security settings perhaps?

We have some internal idrop sites that work great in ie6 and below, but are failing in 7.

It works on IE 7.

I read your question on IE 7 and my internal website works on IE 7.

No problem on it.

But what is your problem?

you need to activate the ActiveX controls. You'll see the alert at the top
of the ie window. Next you have to click on *each* dropper to activate it.
Then it will work as usual. If it's your intranet, ie7 is supposed to add it
to your safe zone. so that it will remember the initial ActiveX activation
but you still have to click on each idrop to activate it.

It's a pain but it works.

Yes. I was playing around with it this morning, and was able to get it to work. We have not built our page for our local intranet yet, so we were using an external website of some random company as a testing site. I think that was part of the issue.

I did notice that you have to click each time to activate it, which is a pain. However, it does seem to be working, and that's the key.

Thank you for all of your input - although it was just ineptitude on my part to begin with!

If you want any help i-drop, I am willing to help.

I can generate the i-drop from the Database and will be easy to manage the website.

Microsoft lost a lawsuit from a company named Eolas that changed the way
objects can be referenced in the HTML source of a web page. There are
work-arounds and recent work-arounds also avoid the need to click to
acknowledge active content when using IE7 [1].

Most of this is reading and copy and paste but if there's any problems with
scripting perhaps I or Sem can be consulted...

And another thing...

...as amazing as i-drop almost became it was and remains widely unsupported
and virtually unknown outside of the drafting work-flow. It never caught on
with illustrators either. No sector that has worked with vector graphics to
any significant extent that enabled i-drop to become "the" standard
architecture used to transport graphic content.

Microsoft however is taking another go at their own implementation and has
developed and implemented the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) to
manufacturing. Submit these terms to Google...

I've installed the recent February CTP (Community Technology Preview) that
allows WPF to run on the 2.0 .NET Framework installed on XP SP1 and the
newsgroups are setup to support the Expression Suite of applications that
Microsoft has developed.

The early bird gets the worm. I would think there will be more interest in
this topic once people hear more about it and start trying out the demos
that are being developed as people learn the WPF.
