I can't seem to find any solution to this problem on this forum. I am trying use idrop on windows xp machines, and am getting the following error: ** File C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KUJ87O\chair[1].dwg is not a valid drawing.
This works fine on Windows 2K ....but does not work on any XP machine I try. Seems like an XP issue, but nobody else is having issues?

It has nothing to do with the xml file. If I install the idrop plugin on an xp machine, the idrop download will not work (gives the error I had specified). I tried the AutoDesk chair example, and gave that error. Works fine on any other type of windows install. I'm pretty sure it's not the idrop itself, just how it gets downloaded to temp directory in xp. There must me some setting in xp that's keeping this from working propely.

It does not have any relation with windows XP operating system.
Create a folder and modify the path to the new folder and try.
When you download from the internet, the drawing will go to the temp file that the operating system create. And that might be your path to get the drawing. So why do not try with the new folder and let me know your result.

I realize idrop does not have a specific relation with xp. As I said in the previous post, I don't think it has to do with idrop. IDrop just downloads to a temporary directory and opens it in AutoCAD. The problem is, the file is not getting downloaded. I tried changing the temporary directory, but it does the same thing. There must be some kind of security setting for downloads or something. The thing is, this does this on 4 different xp machines that I've tried.
Thanks for you help...but I think this is a lost cause.

What type of drawing format you are trying to insert in Idrop. I mean the extension. In Idrop you can insert different type of drawings formats like Inventor, Mechanical desktop or other even SolidWorks drawings ( I tested and woks ). If your AutoCAD is not compatible with the format you want to insert, , it might not be inserted. Or your autoCAD version might be older than the drawing that was created. ie if yours is AutoCAD 2002 and the Idrop drawing is 2004 it might not work.
If this is the problem send me your drawing and let me saveas in 2000 and you will test it.
It is good to experiment and build your knowledge in this challenging world

Because the XML file is talking only for the first path of the file. If you copy the drawing, you have to update the xml file as well.
Or you can dynamically workout whenever you copy the file you have to change the xml file.
