mirror not working correctly with off set plane

offset plane is .25cm

but mirror result using off-set plane is .5cm

Perhaps I am missing something here, but isn't this what is expected? You are mirroring the body about a plane that is .25 cm away from the body, I would expect that the mirrored geometry should be .5 cm away from the original. What result do you expect to see in this case?

shame on me - what a logic fail.

Of course you are right.

However on a side note, it actually would be nice if you could mirror the part and with the plane define where the mirrored part should rest
somewhat like a mirror / array combo.
