We are upgrading to a 64 bit workstation...

Our company is upgrading our workstations from a 32 bit system to 64 bit. Will 2K7 run on this new upgraded workstation?

As I understand AutoCAD 2K8 and above are available in both 32 and 64 bit versions, but we have 2K7 which is not avalable as a 64 bit application. Am I correct in thinking it will not run on the new 64 bit workstation?

Not without a lot of messing around with and installing third party files
that may be more trouble than it's worth when doing this company-wide.

Thanks again for the info.

Sorry for the double post. I'm not sure how to move it so I reposted here because I wasn't sure I posted in the correct forum.

I will have to disagree with Joel and Dean on this one... I have recently upgraded to 64 bit windows 7 and through efforts to troubleshoot other software I have ended up installing acad 2007, 2009 , and 2010.

After checking the xp compatibility mode toggle, acad 2007 works fine for me under 64-bit win7 - on an E8200 with 4gb ram and a fx1500. The program is not 64bit capable... but that is the case with most programs anyway.

Hurdles I have found include third party software and plotters - sewercad is currently incapable of running inside acad under win7 64bit but will work in the virtual xp mode, and it seems almost all HP 5000 series printers have trouble printing 11x17 without some workarounds.

Workaround for the Hp5000s posted in the print-plot area.
