Tablet PC and AutoDesk

I am considering the new tablet pc, by acer or hp.
Does anyone know if any autodesk software, especially autocad or ADT3.3 will work on the tablet pc?
I would like to use the new digital ink capabilities that will coming with the new tablet pc's.

Thanks

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, but the question is, why would you
want to draw on such a small surface?

If you're using it in the Arch field, you owe it yourself to check out the
Architectural Studio line. It's not a full on cad package, but the suite of
design and concept tools is pretty amazing. we worked with it for two days,
but couldn't quite justify it for Civil works. For arch, I'd think it would
rock.

James,
Did you try any of the "On_Site" on it? I'm thinking if you could connect
to a gps system it might be worth looking into vs. handheld. Of course I'll
wait a while for the prices to come down a tad, but it might be worth trying
to budget for in the next year.

The Sketch product that I had was designed to be used with a desktop and an
18" wacom touchscreen. It wasn't somehting I'd take out in the field.

Now, I have seen the Acer tablet-PC, and On-site would probably rock! It's a
full strength laptop though, so you might be better off using a regular cad
seat. It would be a toss up to me. I'm headed to the Tablet PC kickoff
expo/promo/whatever tomorrow morning here in Dallas, I'll let you know what
cool toys I find.

Ever try to draw on one of those things while your on a scaffolding with
brickies dropping mortar everywhere or in bright sunlight.Ugggggg
I prefer the ol carpenters pencil on a 2 x 4...Plus if I drop the 2x4 I'm
not out 500 clams.
Pretty cool when those PDAs smash to the ground in a billion
pieces...hehehe.....I've dropped and destroyed countless cell phones that
way...or did I drop those things on purpose?..hmmmmmm

If you get any bring to them AU, I have a feeling that if the vendors are at
Vegas it might take a little shoving & pushing to get up close enough to
play with them.

Can you elaborate a little on how you're using handhelds in the field now? What
hardware are you using and for what tasks? What new capabilities are you looking
for?

Hotel Intercontinental in Addison, from 9-12. I think you might be able to
still registere if you go to event.microsoft.com but I won't swear to it.

I wouldn't buy anything from Acer - ever. Everything I've ever bought from
them - knowingly or as a repackaged (Hi-Val, some Creative) item has been a
piece of junk with little or no support. But I shouldn't complain - for a
while there while they were cranking out those nasty green and black PC's I
enjoyed the extra cash I got for fixing them for friends and neighbors who
didn't ask or didn't listen...

Nah, and the products they were showing were woefully underpowered from my
LDT-stained eyes. Nice technology for the note-writing industry though.
