hardware recommendations

Where do I find AutoCad's list of approved LCD monitors. I know there is such a list because we accessed it before at a previous employer and that was the type of monitor we bought (I believe a Viewsonic but can't remember the model#).

Actually, there is no such list. There never was - at least not on the
AutoCad site. Way too many LCD monitors out there for Autodesk to take that
plunge. Graphics cards are the only piece of hardaware they bother testing,
only because they recommend a workstation class openGL card and there are
relatively few of those to choose from (compared to monitors at least).

Besides, just like the good CRTs before them, any good LCD (low response
time, high contrast ratio) 19" and above will work just fine anyway.

We could start rumours about the list being withdrawn from the Adesk site
and demand to knoow why ! 🙂

No such list, your previous employer just had a vendor preference or
they actually tried hard to match video cards specs with their
monitors specs, and this is what you have to do.

So, to answer your question, you start your research at your video
card vendor website and your monitor vendor website and start paring
together. And if you simply by integrated video cards, then who really
cares, you got crappy performance to start might as well just try and
save your eyes at that point LOL
