I am building a system for a friend who uses Revit. Normally I build gaming PCs.
Will this software benefit more from number of cores or sheer speed?
I love the i7 2700K for gaming, and am sure it would run Revit fine when matched with a overall system, but would a 8 core proc be better? I see a 3.6g FX-8150 for $100 less than a i7, hence my question here.i will be overclocking her system some, though not to any extreme level.
Thank you in advance for any information and opinions.
For most uses, straight-line speed is what you are after. Rendering images may be a different picture; I'm not a Revit user (yet... structural department may be heading that way) so I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will chime in on that. In that case it comes down to the question of how much rendering is being done and how much of a priority is it?
Agreed. Unless you doing a lot of rendering, go for speed and RAM.
