Showcase Ground floor imported from inventor (changes after revert transform)

Hello forum,

I got this really wierd problem with showcase, When i import my model into shocase the groundfloor is good! but when i select something and go to edit>transform>revert transform my model will turn on its side 😮

Why the **** is this happening!?

Thanks everyone!

Paul

This is because Inventor normalli works with Y axis as the UP direction, while Showcase (and other rendering sw like 3dsmax) work with the Z axis as the UP direction.

While importing in showcase there is an option (inside showcase in the import panel) to select the original up axis. the default is "auto detect".

If Showcase, during import, need to rotate the model to match the correct axis, this result in a "transform" operation on the original model, and the result is what you wrote.

After the revert operation, you can go to the import panel (press I), RMB on your model, 3D Model Properties, and select the correct up axis. This put your model on the correct position.
