object not reciving shadows

is there a trick to make objects stop/allow to recive shadows?

i know u can allow/prevent object to CAST shadows, but i have this part in one of my scense that is not recieving shadow, therefore resulting in a more bright color and making confusion about the material applied..

i can't find a way to get it solved, but maybe there's a trick somewhere i did not notice..

version is showcase 2013SP4

i knew those menus but LOL! 😄
it's funny because, stop object from casting shadows actually stops shadow recieving...

i mean..
cast= place object shadow on other objects
recieve= recieve shadows of other objects on the object..

as you see in your vide, when you stop casting, the object also stops reciving..

stupid showcase 😛

anyways, i think i have some sort of software problem on those parts, because it changes nothing..
these were objects mirrored in showcase, i'll try to mirror them in alias and see what happens..

here is a quick example of what is happening.

basically, on the left, from directional light and shadows menu, i've selected the option to avoid shadow casting for all objects.

as you see, object colors are consistent, as they have the same material.

when i switch to "make all object cast shadows" (image on the right) you see that all the objects beside the one highlighted recieves shadows.

apparently, this happens to updated parts or replaced parts, apparently the ones that has been somehow mirrored (before you ask, NO, it's not a flipped normal issue :P) and, if i'm not wrong, this happens in one specific file coming from alias..

probably the best option will be to completely create a new file from scratch and copy-paste the surfaces, but i'm not hoping for grate results here..

just wanted to update you on my problem, maybe someone has an idea

update #2, happens every time i add something to the scene that was previously present and update or sort of...
happen with all environment..

it's like it has some sort of configuration to prevent shadow casting on certain object which is not accessible through the software..
i'll check the files with txt editor 😐

meh 😐
i'm getting quite crazy with this one..

is there a way to force showcase to completely recalculate shadows?

solved using the text editor..

deleted all shadow casters from the txt
then opened the file back in showcase.
at this point, basically, no object was casting shadow, even if the option was to do all of them, cast..

reassigned specific object shadows and got solved..

meh..
