Is there a way to import Inventor .ipn files (exploded assembly) into Showcase??

Hi I was just wondering is there a way where I could render a .ipn file on Showcase??

Hi Carolyn,

 i am sorry, no you can't.

But don't worry,  you can obtain better and quicker results directly moving your parts in Showcase.

... Oh ...

There is a workaround to import a ipn file in showcase....

 

1. save your ipn in dwf format.

2. import the dwf in navisworks (yes you need to navisworks installed)

3. save as fbx (2013 version)

4. import in showcase.

 

But at the end, if you do this process, you will spend too much time adjusting normals, colors and some parts positions.

So, admaiora is right. It si better to move parts direcltly in showcase.

Thanks for the help 😄 lucky I only did three products on inventor instead of all 20 😄 Will try it on showcase hopefully will pick up how to do it quick enough!!
