I can't import the inventor file of bigger size.

Hi,

I can't import the Autodesk Inventor file (file size 2.78 MB Min to 1.5 GB Max).

If i import the above size file the total system getting very slow and it will take more time to import the file into showcase, i am waiting for full day at the end of the day file is not opening.

And also i can't open mulituple drawings in one Showcase-2014 window (Ex. like Autocad)

System Details

8GB RAM

450GB HARD DISK

I have attached the plant image file which i am trying to import.

Hi,

this model should be fine in Showcase.

Perhaps try importing the model by sections using various Iam or Ipt Filesfile in one Showcase scene.

If the Showcase scene is able to import smaller component at the time, it might make the import process faster.

Then, I would also think about not importing component that you don't need for the visualization. Only import what you need.

You need to think that Showcase has to re-tesselate every single object during the import process.. so less objects, less time.

Also, try to import with a low level of tesselation to start with, increasing the tesselation level only on the component that needs it.

You might want to watch these video as a guide.

and also, you might want to look at the graphic card and the amount of RAM in your machine.

Hope it helps,
