Hello everyone. I have an issue that I hope someone can help me with.
I am trying to make a stack of glasses and take a screenshot using ray tracing. However where you can see through both glasses at once they turn black, as shown on the attached image.
I am using Autodesk Inventor 2015
Material: Glass
Appearance: Clear
Thank you.
Dave

first of all, use showcase material "clear glass"
then:
try to rise the trace depth, under file -> settings -> performance & quality
and play with the refractive index in the glass material properties
So your suggestion is to move the file over to Showcase instead of Inventor?
I already made a nice rendering using Showcase, but was hoping that I could use Inventor for quick visualizations.
Hi Dave,
glasses in general are quite complicated materials due to their phisical characteristics (refraction, diffraction, etc)
You can obtain some results with Inventor, even without raytracing.
For better results you have to invoke and use other software, as 3ds Max or for example Showcase, much easier and quick for use and nice results.
I will attach here the showcase scene, just typing the key "R", raytracing will start.
You can import your Inventor model directly in the scene.
Good luck!
