Grid Snap.... How do I disable it?

How do I disable grid snapping in sketch mode?

I am sick of having to zoom in out all the time to place my sketch point where I want it.

Hi Steve,

You should be able to turn this off by clicking the icon shown below at the bottom of the page (with the arrow pointing to it) and then unchecking snap to grid.  Let me know if this doesn't do the trick for you.

Thanks,

James

is it snapping to the grid, or constraining to other sketch elements? maybe a screen cast of what you see happening.

I imported a png image (a little fuzzy), and started a sketch to trace it. By zooming, I can tell it snaps to grid.

How far are you zooming in?  you can't tell much of anything if your zoomed too far in, the lines will jump around and lines that are coincident won't necessarily be touching visually.  this is limitation of graphics cards.

lines are placed accurately with constraints and dimensions, no other way.
