Views on Ext 2 stability

Hi folks,

We currently run 2015 SP1.

I've had a few issues with projects corrupting.

I was advised not to update to the previous version as it was a bit unstable.

I'm wondering how people are finding Ext 2.

Do you think it's wise to update at this time?

Cheers

Do you love it in a 'Wow it's sooo much more stable than previous 2015 versions, I can hardly believe it!' kind of way?

Good to hear 🙂

Now I've just got to convince our engineers it's a good idea

Thx

Yes as in - finally I can probably sit and use this with clients rather than sit here looking like an idiot kind if way.
I got more done the last 3 data in flame than the previous month and haven't had my GUI switch off once.
All's well that ends. That's why its called finishing.

Thanks all,

I've suggested an update but sounds like there's a few months of red tape to cut through... various commitees have to risk assess the situation etc... etc... etc....

nobody takes risks anymore 😞

maybe next year 😞

Risk assessment sounds suspiciously like very other euphemism for no.
To add weight to your case, download the fixed & known bug list
Demonstrate how the fbl will make your lives/work more agile/efficient/productive/sexy and how the IBM informs you of what to look out for
Can management really be so cavalier that they can disregard the obvious achievements that Autodesk have displayed by making their software faster/more reliable/more feature laden etc

For us Ext2 is still crashy.  Not as crashy as Ext1.   It's definately not worse.   Nothing has corrupted which was a HUGE issue with the first iteration of 2015.

The planar tracker.... which is about 6 years late to the party.... is a very welcome additon.
