Timeline Tracks

I am trying to add video only to my timeline, but even with the audio tracks unconnected, i get a warning message everytime telling me i cannot edit mono onto a stereo track.

Is this considered standard behaviour?

Surely Smoke should be smart enough to know if you are not adding audio, that it does not need to warn me about the tracks that would be needed if i did want to add audio?

This is indeed a defect. The problem has already been fixed for a future release.
