Smoke Export to Quicktime Clip has Inverted Alpha Channel

For some reason when I export a clip to Apple ProRes the clip's alpha channel is inverted so that the whole clip is transparent and unviewable. This, needless to say, is a big problem, in light of the fact that I would very much like to see the clip and show it to others.

I am baffled at this, in light of the fact that the clip plays perfectly normally in the Smoke's sequence viewer, and I can't seem to locate any setting that invisiblizes exports.

This is one clip out of 12 exported and the other 11 are all ok.

Any ideas from you heavy smokers?

Are you specifically exporting as ProRes 4444?   If you bring the export back into Smoke with the Alpha (Include Alpha Clip checked) is the fill really still there?

It is prores 4444.

I reimported it, and it came in as a multi clip, loaded it into a sequence without the alpha and re-exported it.

So a couple extra steps got the job done; I'm just curious to know how and why the original export went so wrong.

cheers
