Smoke 2015_3 (Perpetual) tape playout

After approx 100 playouts to tape on Ext2, I just attempted my first tape playout from Ext3, not ideal...

I pulled in a complete ProRes422HQ show as a single finished file, then checked 2 pip head and tail for sync, which was perfect. File plays on the desktop like a bought one. Going into tape playout (shift F9) seemed fine, but the 2 pip on the playout (and the sync audio) was seconds out of sync. I checked it again on the desktop - all fine. I then restarted the computer and tried again for the same result.

Fortunately I still had Ext2 on the machine, opened it up, background services adjusted themselves to the old version, checked the same file on the desktop and it was fine, went into tape playout and it played out correctly first time and every time.

Hi David,

This is a known issue (!!) with 2015ext3. There is an imminent service pack release that will resolve it.

In the meantime, workaround is to use 2015ext2sp1 (or ext2) for playout with audio. (fortunately ext2 and ext3 projects and clips are compatible).
