Please can someone advise me the best way to go regarding importing mxf files and xmls.
I will first off admit that xml's, mxf and Smoke are all very new to me. I have worked almost exclusively on FCP7 and ProRes for the past 8 years!
How do i import a Sony F55 mxf file into Smoke?
I have tried to follow the User Guide, but the results i'm seeing are definitely wrong! The raw file is very washed out, as i would expect, yet when i try to import using the LUTs as described in the User Guide, the image becomes even more unusable - perhaps becuase the Manual suggests using "Sony-Raw_to_SLog2 from the camera/Sony/ directory in the Autodesk location." - yet there is not a file with that name in that folder.
Also - is it better to import the raw mxf files to edit with, then transcode to a different colour space to finish?
thanks
Adam
