making a sequence 24fps

Hi there,

It's not something I've done before...

I've made a title sequence at 25fps HD but now the client wants a 24fps version.

I imagine timewarping or reformatting the end result is a bad idea.

With footage I believe people just use as is with 24fps and 25fps and just let it run slightly slow or fast but with the same discrete frames.

But I guess you could also render it as 24fps and keep the duration as it is and have no interpolation.

It's a timeline with footage (at 25fps 🙂 ) on the bottom then 7 BFX sections taking captions on and off, then a couple more layers of foreground particles on top.

Any tips?

Cheers

One possibility is to time warp the reference to 24fps. The do a mix between the current sequence and the reference. This won't work for sync material or very long shots. But then match the center of the clip (time wise) and cut a frame or two off of the beginning and end of the clip. For material that's cut quickly, this works pretty well. Never want to timewarp between the 2 speeds.

Thanks for the reply,

It turns out they were expecting the duration to change so a simple reformat did the trick 🙂

But thx
