Lustre EXR multi-channel mattes?

Lustre 2014.0.3

Utilizing '.fclut' file to import footage for color correction.

Have issues with activating embedded mattes from Open EXR 2.0 multi-channel image files.  Originally thought the issue involved having "compressed" EXRs.  We're adding shots via wiretapgateway server, saving a cut, shift + load a cut as per the manual to no avail.  Is there another way we should be activating mattes?

Our Nuke artist is able to view the matte channels whether compressed or uncompressed.  Metadata provided below for both versions of EXRs using exrheader tool.
