How/when does Thumbnail view activate on swipe?

Sometimes when I swipe to go in/out of a player, or I'm leaving a BFX, I end up with thumbnail view on the desktop.  I'd love to never, ever see thumbnail view except on rare occasions.

For the life of me I can't figure out why I can swipe 30x and it goes back to reels, then suddenly thumbnail.   I'm usually working at full speed so have a problem stopping and thinking about what I was just doing to cause it.... Any thoughts? 

Also, from a workflow view, could we move the Conform tab to the end?  I use it maybe twice in a job...  end up hitting it when bouncing between Timeline and MediaHub and it's a little visually jarring.

This issue will be fixed in an upcoming release. The thumbnail view currently appears when your current source is not in a Desktop reel. This limitation will be removed so you won't ever see the thumbnail view. Regarding the Conform tab, I will forward your suggestion to our product specialists. Thanks for the feedback. Jasmin
